Sean Higgins, a Memphis VA whistle-blower who was on the brink of homelessness, had his benefits approved last week, according to The Daily Caller.

Higgins was credited with more than 40 disclosures of waste, fraud, and abuse at the Memphis VA hospital.

Thanks to his disclosures, the Memphis VA has been named one of the worst VA hospitals in the nation.

Higgins has been fired three different times re-hired twice. He appealed his June 2017 termination, and is hoping to be re-hired yet again.

The office of Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) helped Higgins receive his pay compensation. Higgins told TheDC that by Friday, February 16, his bank account received the long-overdue payment.

“While congressional offices are not able to influence the decision-making process, our office is always happy to serve as a liaison for Tennesseans. We contacted the Office of Personnel Management to request a review of the merits of Mr. Higgins’ case and are glad he received a favorable ruling,” Corker’s spokeswoman  Micah Johnson said.
