Join the USO in a month-long celebration of military families

The USO kicks off April with new programs and entertainment offerings to celebrate military families – and you’re invited!

If you’ve ever worn a uniform, or had a family member in the service, chances are you’ve enjoyed some of the valuable services the USO (United Service Organizations) has to offer. Created in 1941, the USO was founded to strengthen America’s service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.

When COVID-19 put a temporary halt to in-person entertainment tours and other beloved USO programs, the USO stepped up with their Military Virtual Programming (MVP) series, a virtual series providing “positive, uplifting digital engagements for troops and military families across a wide variety of programming including entertainment, family, transition and more.”

This month, the USO celebrates all military families with numerous programs and services. Upcoming events for April (and their registration links) are:

What may have began as a solution to global lockdowns and social distancing has, over the course of a year, transformed into a much-needed service connecting servicemembers and their families whenever, and wherever the mission takes them. For the MVP Global Entertainment series, guests include A-listers and athletes Rob Gronkowski, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Lindsay Vonn, Kristen Bell, Ne-Yo, Ray Allen, Florida Georgia Line, Idina Menzel, Jon Bernthal, Ciara, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson – just to name a few. 2021 USO Global Ambassadors, Wilmer Valderrama and Kellie Pickler have both hopped on for Q&As with fans from the military community.

While Bob Hope’s iconic shows supporting deployed service members during WWII may be what immediately comes to mind when people think of the USO, they’re so much more. Now in its 80th year, the organization provides phone access in combat zones, military spouse programs, networking, couples seminars, care packages and transition support, just to name a handful.

Only the USO has both the desire and trusted reputation to assemble such an incredible collection of events, which are streamed live, completely free, and also include celebrity virtual base visits, professional discussions, online workshops, and gaming.
